Democrats call for probe of businessman’s contract

A Ft. Wayne Journal Gazette article by Niki Kelly, reports that the Daniels administration entered into a contract with Ft. Wayne businessman Richard E. Rhoad to privately operate some activities of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. The article reports that Rhoad had been doing the same duties as a state employee for $100,000 per year; under the contract he would have the same responsibilities but would be paid $180,000 per year. The article also reports that the Indiana Democratic Party requested Inspector General David Thomas to investigate the contract.
