I think there's a lot of disagreement on how to best accomplish it though. There are valid concerns about the financial viability of programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. The best solution would be a crown corp with a specific mandate, much like the Post Office ( http://www.nalc.org/postal/perform/selfsufficient.html ) is currently run.
